Business Needs

Discovery Channel Asia has a TV program called "Tribe" and needs an innovative way of promoting it. This follows the successful interactive online quiz for "Changing Tribes" in 2006. The objective of the online interactive quiz is to allow audience to have a better understanding of the show, and also use this opportunity to increase the audience’s interest level in the program.

The challenge is to create an online interactive quiz that will attract the audience to participate and gain a better understanding of the tribes and interesting facts presented in the show.

Solution

The idea is to inject a game element into the quiz to increase the fun factor, instead of a normal question and answer quiz. Since the show is Tribes, a simple game of throwing a spear to hit the target board is created. The goal is to shoot down as many targets as possible with a given number of spears. Whenever you hit a target successfully, there will be a Tribe question with multiple choice answers. You can play the game to test your knowledge of Ethiopia Tribes.

To make the game more exciting, there are bonus targets that randomly appear in the game, and if you hit one, you will receive extra spears. The game ends when you complete all three stages or when you run out of spears.
